10 years of #RunChat: The Blue Ridge Marathon
In June, #RunChat will turn 10 years old and as part of our celebrations ahead of that, we’re featuring some of the sponsors you’ve seen the most over the years.
First up is the Foot Levelers Blue Ridge Marathon in Roanoke, Virginia. This race has been part of #RunChat for several years as it has grown.
The Blue Ridge Marathon, which is dubbed “America’s Toughest Road Marathon,” features elevation gain/loss of 7,430 feet as it winds from downtown Roanoke through the Blue Ridge Mountains.
“The Blue Ridge Marathon course is not for the faint of heart,” organizers say on their website.
There is also a 10K that climbs up and down a mountain, and a half marathon that has nearly 1,900 feet of elevation gain.
This year’s race is Saturday, April 18!
There is still time to train for this race! Snag yourself a 20% discount on any of the races with code RUNCHAT20.
If you’re sitting on the fence about whether or not to sign up, check out what the Blue Ridge Marathon race ambassadors are saying about it!
At this week's #RunChat (8 p.m. ET Jan. 12), just by joining in you're entered to win a virtual training program courtesy of the Blue Ridge Marathon! You don't have to run the race to win it -- it's good to follow for any race this spring or give you a solid plan to get through the winter months.
One winner will be selected at random and announced in the final few minutes of Sunday's #RunChat.
