The race in Roanoke, Virginia, which will be held on April 16, is known as America’s Toughest Road Marathon.
The event features a total elevation gain/loss of 7,430 feet as it winds its way through parts of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
“The Blue Ridge Marathon course is not for the faint of heart,” as race organizers say on their website.
