#RunChatHunt returns for July 2020

Our popular scavenger hunt - #RunChatHunt - is back for a summer installment after taking last year off! And for July, we're excited to have ROAD iD as the sponsor for this fun event.

So ... what is #RunChatHunt? It is, quite simply, a way for you to have fun on your runs for the next month, find some items, tweet photos of them, and make some new friends along the way.

#RunChatHunt officially starts as of this post (very late on June 30) and continues through 11:59 p.m. ET July 31, 2020. Here are the items to find for this event that you voted on recently:

Sunrise or sunset

Non-pet animal (squirrels, birds, farm animals, etc.)

Local restaurant (or brewery or coffee shop)

Flowers

Fire hydrant

Body of water

Temperature sign (outdoor thermometer/at a bank)

Sprinklers

Construction site

"Thank you"/support sign for front-line workers

Bonus: Letters to spell out sponsor ROAD iD (in a collage!)

Yes, there are prizes!

Sponsor ROAD iD will have three great prizes up for grabs:

  1. Thule brand ROAD iD Backpack

  2. A Summer Limited Edition Tech Tee

  3. A ROAD iD Yeti mug

Each ROAD iD prize will also include a gift card so you can purchase a new ID band for yourself, a friend or a family member!

And that’s not all! We have some more prizes from previous #RunChat sponsors:

  • A pair of Aeropex headphones from AfterShokz

  • A subscription box from Runner Box

  • 3 pairs of PRO Compression socks (3 different winners!)

How to enter

Each item to find counts as one entry. So if you post a collage of items, sorry, it's only one entry. Post each item separately so you can have up to 11 entries for the prizes. The ROAD iD collage is one entry - find a fun app to put that together! All photos must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. ET July 31 to be eligible. Retweeting/quote tweeting/favoriting of tweets do not increase your chances of winning.

Tweets MUST include the #RunChatHunt tag. We'd love to see you use #RunChat, as well as tagging @therunchat and @ROADiD, but it is not a requirement. (Those will help us see it better so we can retweet them!)

Staying safe through COVID-19

We ask that you follow all local guidelines in place. If, for example, an area is closed, don't sneak into that area for a pic. If you see large groups of people, avoid those areas.

Also, if you're not able to get out for new photos for any reason, that is OK for this version of #RunChatHunt. If you want to submit old photos from previous runs, those will be eligible to win prizes.

Other important info

Creativity counts. If you're having trouble finding an item, please know that each individual thing doesn't have to be so literal. We've had some amazing creative entries over the year. Keep it fun, relaxed and entertaining to you and your Twitter followers.

We may use your photos using the #RunChatHunt tag on other social media posts, #RunChat emails or future scavenger hunt events. We'll give you photo credit as much as we can.
